However I did notice that if I reboot the computer and try the software update function before trying to load the HP Director application that it did work. However HP comes back saying that there are no new updates available. I then called HP's tech support and they are aware of the issue and are supposedly working on this problem. I am using a fully updated version of XP with every available update including of course now the officially released IE7. It has Windows Defender and there is absolutely no spyware or viruses of any kind on it either as I am very diligent about those issues. Why doesn't Microsoft solve this issue by issuing a patch for IE7 to fix this issue.

The PSC 2410 is a very popular printer and this has taken me by complete surprise and I love the new IE7 and I don't want to go back to IE6 like the HP rep told me to. I can't figure out for the life of me why a program like HP Director has anything to do with IE in the first place as it doesn't do any browsing??
