Hello, I am working on a dv1000 repair for a friend who purchased windows 7 and wants it installed on his dv1000. I got the sound, chipset modem and everything working. However the graphic card drivers are being completely ridiculous. Everytime I run the install after the reboot I get the following 'Installing graphic device.' 'Driver was not sucessfully installed.' I then have a 'Video Controller' unassigned in my device manager.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Apparently even in compatibility mode windows 7 does not accept the Intel 5 XP driver. If anyone knows of an alternative driver or any type of solution that will work, it will be helpful. The problems I get now is that videos dont render properly and move like a slide show. The second problem is the resolution resets after every reboot.
