I have been looking over the data sheets for these two Linksys wireless 802.11n Draft 2.0 cards, and am wondering if one has a better signal strength range than the other? Brneagl wrote: So, I buy the wrt150n and works great. Like, my PC using WinXP and does connect to the net after cable modem connecedt to router(wireless). My other PC is upstairs.

Win Vista (yikes) but ok because wusb300n will work on Vista, so it says. OK, driver checked, loaded and supposedly working ok. Ready to connect. Now I need a security key or passphrase!! Where, please, do I get that? I am told that I set it up with the router.

I am told I need this from my provider. I am told I get this from Linksys!!!! Please, don't grab my hand, just help me out!!!

I am a senior going bananas and my BP is mighty high. This security key or passphrase is set up by 'you' when you configue your WRT150N router. Try getting the wireless access point WAP54G in order to increase the network or boost the wireless signal. Also, for the N-series router adapter open the setup page of router using 192.168.1.1 then put in the password as admin.all you need to do is do the wireless settings such as Radio Band Frequency to Standard 20 MHZ frequency, channel to 11.Also,the advanced wireless settings to Beacon Interval=50,Frag thres=2306 Rts thres=2307 then uncheck a Block Anonymous Internet Requests it will definately work!!! I have a Linksys N wireless router and the Wusb300N adapter. Everything works great until I plug a flash drive into the usb port. I lose my connection instantly and the mac address is changed to random wacky numbers.

This does not happen if I plug a camera into the port, only flash drives. If I leave the flash drive in and reboot, when it comes back up everything works fine. This is annoying to have to reboot every time you stick a flash or iPod into a usb port.

It doesn't matter which port you try. I am running XP on a Biostar motherboard with 300 watt sparkle power supply.

Currently have the modem running directly to Wireless-N Broadband Router WRT300N (router is not connected to the PC since it is in the other room, however the router was installed in the PC initially then disconnected). PC has USB Network Adapter WUSB300N attached. PC has internet access for approximately 20 minutes at a time then Internet Explorer gives the 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'. When accessing the 'Connect to' function from the Windows Start menu the linksys network is showing 'connected'. We then have to disconnect from that network and immediately reconnect. Internet Explorer then works for another 20 minutes or so.

The PC has Vista. Two laptops in the house do not have connectivity problems even when the PC loses access.

Have installed the drivers from the linksys page. I have a hp slimline pavilion s3407c computer with vista HP installed.

When I have my wusb300n wireless adapter connected the boot screen hangs in the BIOS at the CPU description for about 3.5 minutes and then boots as regular. The wireless network is connecting through a wrt310n router.

THe wireless network works well. If I boot the computer with the wusb300n disconnected, the computer boots in less than a minute. The wusb300n will also slow shutdown if it is connected.

I have the latest listed driver for the adapter. Has anyone seen this, and if so is there a fix other than physically disconnecting the usb adapter at boot and shutdown? Thanks Solved! Go to Solution. I have WRT350N FW V200.17 with a USB-connected 500 GB Maxtor HD. WithinWLAN I have a WUSB300N connecting a desktop.

I also have a desktop with wired connection to the router and two WLAN connected notebooks Compaq with Intel WLAN on board, 4965 AGN and 2220 respSince day 1 the WRT350N router has dived at least once a day. It seems to be WLAN part mostly to dysfunction, since often the wired connection works and the router works fine after rebooting. Often, however, I have to disconnect/connect power to WRT350N since it is not accessable at all through web interface.I have noticed at WRT350N forum that I am not alone. A suggestion came up to try WLAN N channel 6 and standard channel 8 (instead of default 4), a choice that is permitted setting up WRT350N. When I try that the WUSB300N does not connect at all. First after disconnect ing the USB adapter and rebooting the computer and after endless trials to access the Linksys setup program the WUSB300N conneted - as before with a manual IP adress (not DHCP).
