This page has the drivers for most of the Alps printers. The 2010 is at the top. For windows: For Mac: If this link does not work, go to alpsusa.com. Click on support (at the top of the page). Click on Retail printers (about 2 inches down on the left of the page, in the support box). Click on Downloads (same box on the left of page). Click on MD color printer & scanner/win or MD color printer & scanner/mac (side by side, the first listings in the middle of the page, under downloads and copyright information).
Click on the download for the 2010 (MDP640.EXE in the middle, under the first section for windows, MDP643.SEA.HQX in the middle, under the second section for mac). Not knowing the exact problem, but going upon what I have seen and read, I would make sure that my drivers are up to date.
We have had similar problems where it would stop working at unusual points and for no specific reasons. These have almost always been solved by reloading the drivers. I don't know why the drivers become corrupted, but at least it is easy to try. Canon Scanner Lide 30 Driver Windows 7 32bit. You may also want to try the troubleshooting section. Just click on the link, then click on troubleshooting in the support box on the left. Harry - No the Alps are no longer sold retail but you can get them on ebay. However, you never know what you are going to get. Your best bet is to buy one on ebay that doesn't work but is very cheap, then send it in to alps to have it refurbished. It costs $350 but you basically have a new printer with a 90 day warranty (see the link above or below and click on printer repairs in the left hand column).
Mirriam - If you like the printer and want to keep it, send it in to be refurbished (see link above or below). We just had ours returned. It was not the exact same printer, but it is a replacement that is as good as new. If you just want to get rid of it, contact me (click on the blue 'jim' if the email link doesn't show) and I will forward the info to my dad (you two can haggle over a price) or you can sell it 'as is' on ebay. I have not been able to find anything comparable under $5000. Even when the MD5000 first came out the closest comparable printer was $5000. Your best bet is a used/refurbished one (see comments above for refubishing info) Michael - Sorry I am not very good at helping without seeing it in person. The windows XP drivers are available on the alps site under downloads. Have you tried all the troubleshooting tips?
